CCBS  presents the first sustainability report, for a certified and pragmatic approach to social responsibility

An official document presented that verifies the company’s commitment to a sustainable future, with a path based on investments and best practices. A starting point to set a path to achieve the Carbon Neutrality goal step by step.

A 65% reduction in the purchase of electricity from the grid to replace it with – according to Goal 2 – in just one year, 74 electric vehicles, 100% self-produced sales force through photovoltaic panels (with 516 tons less CO2 emissions offset by renewable energy, over 3000 hours of training for more than 350 employees, evolution of product packaging by reducing weight (-9 tons of PET used between 2021 and 2022), and the use of recyclable and recycled materials such as rPET (recycled PET) in key formats.

These are some of the findings from the first sustainability report referring to the year 2022 signed by CCBS – and prepared by Deloitte – which marks a significant step in the path of transparency and continuous improvement implemented for several years. “An official document that confirms our company’s strong commitment to sustainability and social responsibility,” comments CCBS President Luca Busi. “For us, CCBS is more than a business activity; it is a reality that forcefully and energetically promotes change, since 1994. Our green initiatives have gone beyond formal gestures, beyond promises, becoming the foundation of our identity and guiding every action. We are aware that the success of a company goes beyond its economic and financial performance: we want and must leave future generations a legacy of good practices.”

Since its establishment in Albania, Coca-Cola Bottling Albania has promoted environmental actions through pioneering projects, hoping to contribute to setting new standards within the market. “Our environmental initiatives,” Busi comments, “such as investments in photovoltaics, the use of 100% electric vehicles (for the sales team in Tirana, Durres, Kavaja), installation of fast-charging stations in included cities, tree planting, and greening, are just examples of the key elements of a daily commitment at all levels of the organization.”

Therefore, this report represents more than a simple analysis; it marks a transformation towards a documented and proven approach: “We have built a development model that communicates with the entire supply chain and that we want to continue to advance in line with the evolution of Albanian society, combining the power of a global brand, the values of a family business, and a local perspective. We are proud to announce,” CCBS President continues, “that our commitment is no longer just a statement: it is now supported by detailed and verified reports from specialized consultants. In this way, we want to work better and better to combine the growth of our company with a pragmatic and concrete approach to sustainability. Only by knowing the starting point well can we aspire to always do better.”

“With the best consultants at the European level,” Luca Busi concludes, “we are building a guide that will allow us to become one of the first companies with zero emissions by 2030. A very ambitious road that has seen us working for several months and will truly mark a significant turning point for us. My thanks go to our dedicated team, The Coca-Cola Company, the stakeholders we work with every day, and the communities we serve. In fact, only together do we truly have the power to shape a sustainable future.”
