AmCham Albania used the platform of the annual Future2Tech 2026 fair to bring together business leaders and technology experts for a discussion on “The AI shift: AI Has Evolved, Has you security?”
Moderated by Gert Boshnjaku, the panel focused on the opportunities and challenges businesses face as Artificial Intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into their day-to-day operations, with particular attention to security, trust, data protection, and the responsible use of AI. These issues were at the heart of the discussion, featuring Tine Lenarčič, Applications Regional Sales Manager at Oracle, and Admir Malaj, Administrator of Trifolium, as the main speakers.
Welcoming participants to the event, AmCham President Grant Van Cleve said that the major changes taking place around the world and in the United States are also having an impact in Albania. According to Van Cleve, the American Chamber is well positioned to lead this conversation in the market and to provide a secure platform for dialogue between experts and the business community.
Genti Daci, Chair of the Digital Business Committee, also highlighted the Committee’s role in creating a platform where businesses and technology experts can exchange knowledge and jointly address the opportunities and challenges that come with the development of the digital economy in Albania.
Tine Lenarčič of Oracle focused on AI security in the context of the financial sector, addressing the importance of data protection and the use of technology in an environment where security and trust are critical. Drawing on practical examples and Oracle’s perspective, he discussed the challenges that come with the increasingly widespread use of AI, particularly in sectors that handle sensitive data and operate under stringent security requirements.
Meanwhile, Admir Malaj, Administrator of Trifolium, brought the discussion closer to the everyday use of AI in the workplace, demonstrating how AI agents can be built and used to support a range of different tasks and processes. One of the key messages of his presentation was that the use of AI cannot remain solely the responsibility of IT departments. Professionals across all areas of a business need to understand these tools and learn how to use them effectively in their day-to-day work.
The meeting provided an opportunity not only for discussion, but also for networking among AmCham representatives, business leaders, and technology experts. As part of this broader platform, and within the Media Zone at the Future2Tech fair, AmCham President Grant Van Cleve also gave an interview in which he elaborated further on the American Chamber’s commitment to contributing, through its expertise, to legislative and regulatory processes, as well as to educating the business community about technological developments.
