Strengthening U.S.-Albania economic ties

A delegation of staffers from the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, organised by the Atlantic Council as part of its Balkans Forward Congressional Fellowship, visited the Balkan region in recent days. During the visit, the delegation was welcomed by the Director of the American Chamber, Neritan Mullaj, together with representatives of the Board of Directors, including Vice President Rexhino Cekrezi, Treasurer Kledi Kodra, and Board Member Elton Çollaku.

The meeting focused on the country’s business climate and opportunities to incentivize American businesses to invest in Albania. The Chamber’s leadership presented the organization’s advocacy efforts aimed at fostering a business environment underpinned by the rule of law, transparency, and predictability, key indicators that provide assurances and confidence for American investment.

Particular attention was devoted to Albania’s evolving position within the broader regional economy. The Atlantic Council delegation expressed interest in gaining a deeper understanding of the country’s investment potential, exploring both the opportunities available to international investors and the challenges that continue to shape Albania’s economic landscape.

The meeting reaffirmed the value of continued engagement between the business community, U.S. institutions, and regional stakeholders in advancing shared economic priorities and unlocking Albania’s potential as an attractive destination for American investment.
