Tuesday, which marked the first day of this week’s work, began with a fall in the euro and the dollar in the domestic market. According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, one euro was exchanged at 125.72 lek, down 0.62 lek compared to the end of the week and returning to the downward trend, after a slight increase in the middle of last week.

In the periodic survey on the financial situation of families, the Bank of Albania reported that in the second half of 2019, about 24% of Albanian families have at least one debt to pay. This weight has remained unchanged compared to the previous survey, and has marked a slight decrease compared to a year ago, but remains 4 percentage points below the historical average of the survey (since 2010).

Sipas këtij ndryshimi, bizneset e vogla nuk do të paguajnë qira për dy muaj edhe në rast se ata mund të mos jenë në listën e aktiviteteve të mbyllura. Më parë, subjekt i këtij akti ishin vetëm bizneset që ishin në listën e aktiviteteve të mbyllura.

Council of Ministers approved yesterday a Normative Act on Some amendments and additions
in the Normative Act No. 3, dated 15.03.2020 of the Council of Ministers, “For
taking special administrative measures during the period of infection caused by
Covid-19”, as amended.
According to this change, small businesses will not pay rent for two months
even if they may not be on the list of closed activities. Previously, the
subject of this act were only businesses that were on the list of closed
activities.

Last week, the Bank of Albania decided to suspend the distribution of commercial bank profits until the end of June 2020. Sipas vendimit, kjo masë përfshin të gjitha fitimet e akumuluara deri në fund të vitit financiar 2020, si edhe fitimet që do të realizohen në gjysmën e parë të këtij viti. The EU is making available almost all the remaining money from this year’s budget to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The Council has adopted today by a written procedure two proposals which amend the EU budget for 2020 in order to free up funds to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. Money is also being made available to help Greece deal with increased migratory pressures, and to support Albania’s post-earthquake reconstruction.
