The American Chamber in cooperation with the Commercial Law Development Program of the U.S. Department of Commerce, is exploring the establishment of an Alternative Dispute Resolution Center within AmCham Albania, with a focus on commercial mediation and arbitration. The initiative aims to provide businesses with a professional and credible mechanism for resolving commercial disputes through efficient alternatives to traditional court proceedings, potentially reducing the time and costs associated with dispute resolution.
The proposed ADR Center aims to serve as a point of reference for promoting the use of commercial arbitration and mediation, encouraging the efficient resolution of disputes, strengthening trust between parties, and fostering the adoption of internationally recognized best practices. This initiative represents a step toward creating a more predictable and transparent business environment in Albania, enabling companies to focus on investment, and value creation.
The proposed model for the Center is designed to address the specific needs of businesses and foreign investors, with the objective of adding value to Albania’s business and investment climate. Through this initiative, AmCham Albania seeks to contribute to strengthening legal certainty, enhancing investor confidence, and fostering a more favourable environment for sustainable business development.
