The tourism sector and the challenges it faces are an essential part of the ongoing discussions within the AmCham Tourism & Hospitality Committee. Representatives of the committee recently met with the Minister of Tourism, Mirela Kumbaro, to establish a continuous dialogue with institutions and address the issues and topics of concern to AmCham.
The Executive Director of AmCham Albania, Neritan Mullaj, and the Tourism & Hospitality Committee led by Chairman Elvis Kotherja and Vice Chairman Nikolla Gjoni, held discussions with Mrs. Kumbaro on legislative matters, such as the draft Tourism Law, which is expected to undergo public consultation soon, and the American Chamber of Commerce will provide its own comments. Additionally, the committee expressed a keen interest in the Tourism Strategy for the period 2023-2028, believing that a well-thought-out strategy involving all stakeholders is crucial for positive advancements in the tourism sector.
During the committee meeting, representatives from the American Chamber of Commerce relayed these insights to the committee members, emphasizing the significance of legislative matters and professional education within the discussions. The American Chamber of Commerce believes that incentives in the hospitality industry (bars, restaurants, and hotel services) will give a boost to the sector, and its positive effects will be felt throughout the chain.
Discussions with the Minister of Tourism on workforce education were also conveyed to the Committee, emphasizing the challenging issue of the lack of vocational schools and curricula that reflect the changes that have occurred in the tourism sector. The Committee has addressed the recent project proposal from World Vision for training and professional development for young people in the tourism sector.
Komiteti i Turizmit & Mikpritjes diskuton për sfidat sektoriale mbi legjislacionin dhe fuqinë punëtore
Sektori i turizmit dhe sfidat me të cilat përballet, janë pjesë integrale e diskutimeve në Komitetin e Turizmit & Mikpritjes të AmCham. Përfaqësuesit e këtij Komiteti zhvilluan një takim me Ministren e Turizmit, Mirela Kumbaro në përpjekjen për të zhvilluar një dialog konstant me institucionet për të përcjellë cështjet dhe tema që trajton AmCham.
Drejtori Ekzekutiv i AmCham Albania, Neritan Mullaj, dhe Komiteti i Turizmit & Mikpritjes i drejtuar nga Kryetari i Komitetit Elvis Kotherja dhe Nënkryetari Nikolla Gjoni, diskutuan me znj. Kumbaro cështje legjislative si ai i draft ligjit për Turizmin i cili pritet së shpejti të konsultohet me publikun dhe Dhoma Amerikane do të japi komentet e veta. Strategjia e Turizmit 2023-2028 është një tjetër cështje për të cilën Komiteti ka shfaqur interes pasi beson se sektori prioritar i turizmit ka nevojë për një strategji të mirëmenduar nga të gjithë aktorët për të sjellë inpute pozitive në zhvillimin sektorial.
Përfaqësuesit e Dhomës Amerikane i kanë përcjellë këto informacione tek anëtarët e Komitetit në mbledhjen e rradhës, duke bërë pjesë të diskutimit të kësaj mbledhje, çështjet e legjislacionit dhe edukimit profesional. Dhoma Amerikane është e mendimit se incentivat në industrinë e mikpritjes (bareve, restoranteve dhe shërbimet e hotelerisë) do i japë një shtysë sektorit dhe efektet pozitive të tij do të ndihen në të gjithë zinxhirin.
Diskutimet me Ministren e Turizmit mbi edukimin e forcës së punës u përcollën dhe në Komitet duke theksuar problematikën e mprehtë të mungesës së shkollave profesionale dhe të kurrikulave që reflektojnë ndryshimet që kanë ndodhur në sektorin e turizmit. Në Komitet është trajtuar propozimi i ardhur së fundmi nga World Vision për një projekt për aftësimin profesional të të rinjve në fushën e turizmit.
