The foreign exchange market has calmed down in the last three weeks, gradually returning to the levels of early March, before the unprecedented crisis caused by the spread of Covid-19 infection, which forced the restriction of movements and the closure of many economic activities.

Even under the best outlook, World Bank sees Western Balkans economies shrinking up to 5.6% – Reuters.com
Economies in the Western Balkans region will contract by up to 5.6% under the best scenario of how the coronavirus pandemic unfolds in Europe, the World Bank said on Wednesday.
According to that “baseline scenario”, containment measures could be lifted by the end of June and a gradual recovery could start in the second half of 2020. The “downside scenario” assumes the outbreak lingers and containment measures can only be lifted at end of August, with a recovery of economic activity only possible in the final quarter of 2020.

Ekonomitë në rajonin e Ballkanit Perëndimor do të tkurren deri në 5.6% sipas skenarit më të mirë të ndikimit nga pandemia e koronavirusit në Evropë, tha Banka Botërore të Mërkurën. Sipas këtij “skenari fillestar”, masat e kontrollit mund të hiqen deri në fund të qershorit dhe një rikuperim gradual mund të fillojë në gjysmën e dytë të vitit 2020. “Skenari downside” supozon se zgjatjet e shpërthimit dhe masat e kontrollit mund të hiqen vetëm në fund të gushtit, me një rikuperim të aktivitetit ekonomik vetëm në tremujorin e fundit të vitit 2020.
