The Financial Supervisory Authority said it had recently required insurance companies to suspend dividend distribution procedures. The measure announced by the FSA comes as a result of the situation created due to coronavirus and according to the recommendations of the European Insurance Authority, it is required to maintain liquidity and financial indicators in the supervised markets.

Currently, in Albania, everyone is involved in borrowing: the government towards foreign and domestic investors, businesses and individuals towards banks and vice versa.
The slowdown or ban of economic activity, due to the closure of borders and quarantine, has hurt everyone, but especially businesses and borrowing individuals, by putting them at risk of bankruptcy for non-repayment of loans.
Their further borrowing, to get out of the crisis by their own, seems impossible to me. Even if, on the basis of a sovereign guarantee, banks would agree to further lend to businesses or individuals in difficulty, bankruptcies would still not be avoided. This is because the jump of the normal income stream for businesses and individuals could not be guaranteed. We still do not know when the normal economic life will begin after the virus.

But there is still hope that tourism will work this year. It is at our neighbors, Kosovo, but also in Macedonia.
