The Youth, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Committee held its first official meeting, which served to outline the plans and initiatives that will guide the committee’s activities over the next two years. The Chair of the Committee, Klint Bërdica, engaged members in an active discussion to identify the best ways for young people to access innovation ecosystems and build bridges of collaboration between businesses and universities, drawing on both local and international best practices.

From the wide range of ideas presented by the Committee’s young members, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and issues related to entrepreneurship legislation were identified as key priority areas for innovation. The idea of organizing innovation-focused sessions was met with strong interest. These thematic meetings will aim to showcase innovative ideas, projects, and practices from the business and startup community. The sessions will be accompanied by a dedicated newsletter, serving as a platform to share knowledge, success stories, and the latest developments in the field of innovation.

As part of its activities, the Committee will also organize roundtables and dialogue forums on key topics related to entrepreneurship, technology, and youth leadership development. These initiatives aim not only to strengthen the capacities of its members but also to benefit the wider business community, creating a space for discussion among business representatives, experts, and young professionals, while fostering sustainable collaboration with the university system.

In the area of professional development, the Committee welcomed proposals for training programs focused on leadership development, enhancing young people’s communication and public speaking skills. Programs supported by the U.S. Embassy, such as the Fulbright Program and the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship, were also highlighted as valuable opportunities for young people to engage in research and professional growth.

Through these initiatives, the Youth, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Committee aims to strengthen its role as a platform that promotes new ideas, supports entrepreneurship, and contributes to the development of the next generation of leaders in Albania.
