The training MoveUp Albania program focused on “Green Logistics,” a critical aspect of business operations influenced by European Union policies aimed at ensuring optimal environmental and climate standards.
The objective of the training was to guide businesses in adopting sustainable practices by reducing carbon emissions, promoting the use of alternative energy sources, and integrating green infrastructure and technologies across the entire supply chain, while maintaining operational efficiency.
Trainer Andrea Mureșeanu engaged with participants on topics related to EU legislation and international frameworks such as SDGs and ESG, as well as best practices in warehousing and the use of advanced technologies.
The training focused on key topics, including:
- Environmental impacts of logistics (greenhouse gas emissions – GHG, air quality, noise, land use)
- Regulatory trends and sustainability targets (EU Green Deal, Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs, ESG standards)
- Energy-efficient transport solutions (modal shift toward environmentally friendly transport, low-emission and alternative fuel vehicles – electric, LNG, hydrogen, as well as route optimization and load consolidation practices)
- Sustainable warehousing solutions (green building standards – LEED, BREEAM, energy-efficient design, smart lighting, energy management systems, automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, and waste reduction strategies)
- Digital technologies in green logistics (telematics systems, emissions tracking, artificial intelligence – AI, Internet of Things – IoT, automation, etc.)
The MoveUp Albania program modules aim to prepare local businesses to meet international standards and build sustainable business models in a competitive market through training and the sharing of best practices.
This training program is implemented in cooperation with AmCham Albania, under the leadership of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, in partnership with the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
