The American Chamber of Commerce in Albania, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Taxes, organized an informational training session on the new tax declarations for 2025. The event attracted significant interest from the business community and AmCham members.

In his opening remarks, AmCham Executive Director Neritan Mullaj emphasized the importance of keeping businesses informed about developments in the fiscal framework.“The strong participation in this training once again confirms how important it is for businesses to remain continuously informed about legal changes and developments in the fiscal system. For AmCham, keeping our members up to date with these changes remains a priority, given the direct impact that fiscal policies have on the day-to-day operations of companies,” said Mullaj.

The training highlighted the importance of the ongoing and constructive cooperation between AmCham and the General Directorate of Taxes. During the session, Rezana Celmeta, Director of Business Processes at the General Directorate of Taxes, presented the new rules and procedures for completing tax declarations and addressed practical issues related to their implementation. Participants were provided with technical insights into the latest changes affecting the 2025 tax declaration process, with particular focus on the Annual Individual Income Declaration. Income declaration plays an important role in ensuring fiscal transparency and effective administration of personal income, covering various categories of earnings that individuals may generate during the year, including salaries, rental income, dividends, and other economic activities.

During the discussion, the Chair of the Tax and Customs Committee, Alketa Uruçi, raised several issues encountered by member businesses during the income declaration process and in completing the Annual Individual Income Declaration. She emphasized the need for greater clarity and more detailed guidance for businesses regarding the requirements and procedures related to this process.

Training sessions such as this aim to help businesses better understand recent regulatory changes and their practical implementation. Through concrete information and practical examples, participants gained a clearer understanding of the declaration process and the new requirements introduced. The event was held in an interactive format, allowing participants to raise specific questions and engage directly with experts from the tax administration to discuss the challenges they face in their daily work when completing tax declarations.
