Coca-Cola Bottling Albania has published the second edition of its Sustainability Report, documenting the company’s positive impact on society through sustainable development, innovation, and environmental responsibility. With the ambition of becoming Albania’s first “Carbon Neutral” industrial company by 2030, CCBS has developed a comprehensive roadmap that includes reducing emissions, using renewable energy, and improving practices throughout its value chain.

According to the Report, in 2024, 43% of the company’s energy needs were covered by electricity generated from its photovoltaic system, while efforts are underway to implement an ISO 50001 energy monitoring system to further enhance efficiency and transparency. The company is also expanding its fleet of electric vehicles in cities such as Tirana, Durrës, Elbasan, and Vlora, contributing to a 31% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and maintaining a consistent downward trend in its carbon footprint.

Furthermore, CCBS has made significant progress in sustainable packaging, with 83% of materials sourced from renewable origins and 46% from recycled content, increasing the use of rPET in its products. The company’s commitment to social responsibility is also reflected in its impeccable safety record, with zero workplace accidents and no regulatory breaches, testament to a strong culture of safety and integrity.

Throughout the year, CCBS provided 6,020 hours of training to its 394 employees and local suppliers. Additionally, approximately 93% of the economic value created was redistributed, demonstrating the company’s dedication to inclusive growth and long-term sustainability.

The 2024 Sustainability Report highlights the company’s efforts to align its operations with ESG principles, further strengthening its position as a leader in sustainability and innovation in Albania.
