Business Forum with the Inspectorate of Labor
What we should know when the labor inspector comes for an inspection!
The American Chamber of Commerce in Albania organized a Business Forum through its HR Committee, with the Director of the State Inspectorate of Labor, Mr. Dritan Ylli and inspectors of this Inspectorate. Invited in this meeting was even Mr. Erion Manohasa, Director of Inspection of Labor Relations and Social Dialogue, Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth. The meeting focused on what a business should know about labor legislation to be prepared when the inspector comes for an inspection.
Mr. Dritan Mezini, chairman of the HR Committee spoke about the importance of this information for AmCham member businesses, who want to be informed about specific issues on which an inspection dwells, to make such an inspection efficient for both parties. Speaking about the work done recently by the Labor Inspectorate, Mr. Dritan Ylli explained that the implementation of the online system for inspections has begun, allowing inspectors to be always connected to the system while conducting an inspection. The system will soon allow businesses to communicate directly with the institution that Mr. Ylli leads.
The inspection must be correct and efficient, and that is why both parties, inspectors and businesses, must abide with the law. But how does this work? The questions about many uncertainties that arise in the application of the law were answered not only by the Directors Ylli and Manohasa, but also by Ms. Irida Qosja of the Labor Inspectorate, who clarified in detail concerns related to the Register of Employment, annual vacation, working with subcontractors and other partners, and so on.
This Business Forum was attended by a considerable number of AmCham members who requested that this type of discussion and communication with institutions with which they cooperate be continued in the future.
