Economies in the Western Balkans region will contract by up to 5.6%\nunder the best scenario of how the coronavirus pandemic unfolds in Europe, the\nWorld Bank said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to that \u201cbaseline scenario\u201d, containment measures could be\nlifted by the end of June and a gradual recovery could start in the second half\nof 2020. The \u201cdownside scenario\u201d assumes the outbreak lingers and\ncontainment measures can only be lifted at end of August, with a recovery of\neconomic activity only possible in the final quarter of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
